Using This Site

I have worked very hard to create a site that works on all browser's and all platforms. A personal pet peeve of mine is those site's that require a special browser and/or plug-in just to navigate. The original intention of the web was interoperability, and (in my opinion) site's that require flash just for navigation or "awe factor" are a waste of time, bandwidth, and coding.

If your browser supports CSS then you will find that you can change the page design. I have a number of different styles that you can choose from, so feel free to use any one of them if you don't like the default purple layout. All pages on this site are "printer friendly" with the use of CSS. When you print, you will not get the navigation menu, the colored banner, or the "I Support" section. The font sizes will be increased for easier reading on a printout, and margins are adjusted. If you have the "Print Preview" feature, you can use it to see what I am talking about. Also thought the use of CSS, you can view the same page with small screens; such as a web-phone, PDA, or hand-held computer.

Web Standards

When I refer to "web standards" I am referring to the recommendations set forth by the World Wide Web Consortium, combined with practices that are not vendor specific. A simple explanation of the recommendations and of the W3C can be found at WikiPedia.org

By using those open recommendations set forth by the W3C, and not using propriatory formats, tags, etc; then anyone one can view the information collected here. It does not matter if you are using the latest 3 GHz computer, an old 486, or even a web phone. Any browser that complies to the standards, no matter what platform, can have a pleasant experience on my site. You do not have to download some plug-in, use some specific browser, monitor size, equipment, etc. It won't matter.

As an unfortunate side note, I feel that I must make one disclaimer. Windows Internet Explorer does not comply to the standards. IE has the single largest user-base on the web, yet has the worst security record and has never complied to standards. Even the US-CERT, a part of the National Cyber Security Division of the US Dept. of Homeland Security, has said to dump Internet Explorer based on the large number of security issues. I would highly suggest switching from Internet Explorer, and a quick google search shows I am not alone it that opinion. That being said, you will still be able to use/view/enjoy this site. But let it be said that you would have a better web experience with a better browser.
