Why Alternate Style Sheets?

Style sheets allow for a separation between layout and information. By using style sheets a web designer can change a pages whole look without having to edit every single page. Or an author can write his/her document, and the graphic designer can work on the layout/design. Another benefit, and the one used here (since the author/web designer/graphic designer are all ME), is that I only write one document. Then the user can adjust his/her layout based on his/her needs and uses.

This site uses a number of different style sheets, some of which are "invisible". The visible ones are the ones listed below. One of the "invisible" sheets is a printer only sheet. If you were to print out any page from this web site, you would find that the navigation menu and the "I Support" badges would not show up, and this is on purpose. You don't need the menu when looking at paper, nor do you want to waste ink printing out the various badges. Besides printing the only other "invisible" style sheet is for hand-held devices. Future plans including a style sheet for each of the acceptable media types.

Change Your Style

Some browsers allow are designed to allow the user to switch style sheets. For example if you are using Mozilla, just go to View->Use Style-> and choose the style you wish to use. This should also work for recent versions of Netscape. If you use Firefox, then just go to View->Page Style-> and choose the style you wish to use. Other browsers also have the ability, but I am unaware of the specifics (such as Opera).

If your browser does not have native support for alternate style sheets (such as Internet Explorer), then you can use the links provided below, and on the majority of pages on this site. As noted in the descriptions, some designs work better then others in different browser, but be sure that they all will work. Choose the one that works best for you.
