I have compiled numerous lists of links to freeware programs. On these lists you will find a series of links for essential and not so essential software that every computer user needs. (At least in my opinion.) The key is that it is all FREEWARE. I have not included any shareware, ad-ware, demos, etc. All of the programs you will find here are free of charge, free of nag screens, and are not limited in anyway. I really wish I would have know about these programs when I first bought my computer, I would have saved a ton of bucks.

There is one catch, all of the programs require Windows 9x (unless otherwise stated). Now I know there is technology out there that would allow me to completely remove Window$, some of it is even free. Believe me, I would love to do just that, but as of right now, that is not an option. So I figured that all of those in my shoes could stick it to Bill in our own little way. I have included a section entitled ANTI-WINDOW$. This section includes programs that you can use to replace those Window$ applets that just don't do what you want. Even if the Window$ program does what you want, you really should check this section out. Many of the programs exceed their Micro$oft counterparts by leaps and bounds.

The lists are divided into three categories:

  • *Essential Software-This is a list of all of the software that every computer user needs (at least in my opinion)
  • *Anti-Window$ Programs-These are WONDERFUL programs that you can use to replace those weak Windows applets.
  • *Miscellaneous Programs-These are the programs that deserved to be included, I just didn't know where to put them.

DISCLAIMER: I know that there are numerous versions of the different software I have included here. I have even tried a lot of them. This list just gives the ones that I use. These are the ones that I have found to be the most useful, productive, and user-friendly. You may disagree with some of my choices, but that is your right. By the way, if you know of a program that you think needs to be added to this site, contact me at KVSmaster@cs.com
