About Charter Schools
Charter schools are a new kind of public school authorized by the state
legislature in 1997. Charter schools do not charge tuition and are non-sectarian.
Any parent who feels that their child would benefit from the program offered at a
charter school may enroll their child at a charter school at no cost.
